The Tower Musuem

After work on Monday, Mingna, Xuemin, Alex and I went to explore The Tower Musuem (above the souvenir shop) which showcases the history of Mackinac Island and its surrounding waterways, from native Americans to shipwrecks to the building of the Mackinac bridge. It was really amazing how people transported the materials and built the resort from scratch in the past.

At the top floor (there are 8 levels in total), we were overwhelmed by the panoramic views.

the building with the green shelter is the Main Lodge

that's the lawn below

those lighter shades of greens are the putting courses

facing in the direction of downtown

these are some of the exhibits on the top floor

After touring the musuem, we went downtown in search of ice-cream from Joann's Fudge. turned out that most of the shops had already closed and we left in disappointment.
Many kids were playing on the open field in front of Fort Mackinac

we sat opposite the Visitor's Center for a while and...

...watched horse carriages pass us.

these kids were playing some group games

it was quite refreshing to stop by the open field and just watch the kids play.
We took a stroll back to our dorms thereafter and had a good night rest.
